Opportunity to gain training & work experience in the call centre / customer service sector.
The Connect Programme is a 100% FAS funded innovative programme aimed at providing trainees in receipt of disability payments with the necessary skills and knowledge to access employment in any one of the call centres in Waterford. At present there are three call centres in Waterford which employ in excess of 1,400 people. A fourth call centre is set to open in the coming year.
The programme which is 35 hours per week for a full year is developed with a holistic view of the trainee's needs. The 8 FETAC modules chosen for the programme include:-
Customer Service, Teleservices, Marketing Practice, Communications, 3 computer modules – Microsoft Word, Excel and Access and 10 weeks on site work experience.
Successful completion of this programme with enable students to receive a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Call Centre Operations.
The FETAC element of this programme is coupled with extensive personal development work focusing on the students Emotional Intelligence needs. Each student is profiled using the EQ-I Reuven Bar On Profile Test, results from this profile will form part of the student’s personal development plan and future goal setting.
Guest speakers and extracurricular events are organised throughout the programme to ensure that each student’s educational, social and personal needs are met in a fun supportive environment.
Limited places are still available on this course. Students must be in receipt of a disability payment and over 18 years of age with computer literacy.
